Emily Shepherdson left a lucrative management career to pursue a passion that was sparked in childhood – space exploration. The recipient of the 2018 Amelia Earhart Fellowship is researching technologies that will enable robots to operate in space without human involvement.

These 30 exceptional women pursuing Ph.D./doctoral degrees in aerospace-related sciences or aerospace-related engineering are from 18 countries and studying fields as diverse as mechanical engineering, planetary sciences and aeronautics. We are excited to welcome them into our community of AE Fellows and look forward to following their contributions to science.
